You too are part of our team of volunteers !

By joining the 200 volunteers in our association, you will help our project flourish by giving our association the benefit of your time, your skills and your talents.

Committing to us, means:

  • gaining experience and knowledge about maintaining a ship (maintaining equipment, painting, tarring the rigging, caulking, maintenance of pulleys, etc.);
  • sharing our love for the Hermione with the public (helping with the shop, the membership stand at events, helping with the Rochefort tour or during stopovers, etc.);
  • joining a community of enthusiasts where you are sure to make friends and enjoy wonderful experiences with others;
  • discovering the ship and its atmosphere to see if the boatswain adventure might interest you.

Practical skills

You can join our team of volunteers and participate in one-off or regular volunteer work according to your availability (some get involved once or several times a week, others once a year, etc.), depending on what you know how to do and what you want to learn, and based on your geographical proximity.

No special skills are required.

If you live far away, we can offer you accommodation when you come to volunteer, in so far as we are able.

So we can make sure you really would like to join our team of volunteers and whether you fit with our associative project, the volunteer manager will ask you to come to a presentation meeting at our premises in Rochefort.

There is a volunteering charter which explains the mutual commitments of the association and the volunteers as well as what volunteering involves, and you will be asked to comply with this charter.

There is also a schedule that is sent every month to all volunteers so that everybody can register and advise us of their availability for the duties that need carrying out.
